Review of Mucklewain - Steve's Myspace Blog
Before I went to the Songwriters' "Tent",  I caught sets by Caddle (the one Birmingham, AL, entry of the day)
and Glossary.  Caddle simply ROCKED!  Their mix of Southern Country-Rock-Boogie recalls the fun that
Jason & the Scorchers used to bring to the stage in their day (which I hope, is not over!).  Even as Caddle
finished their set, a woman who was standing next to my buddy and I (and apparaently seeing the band for
the first time) turned and exclaimed, "Were they not amazing?!"  Frontman Phillip Hyde, imo, has the perfect
stage presence...active (and interactive) without looking like he's trying to hard.  The guy exudes "Cool"; but
never takes himself too seriously; as evidence by his frank, and often-times hilarious, stage banter.  The other
four members play like the constantly-touring band that they are; with bassist Chris Pottratz getting my vote for
"Best Rock Performance--Bassist" of the day.  To check out Steve's

Re-birthday of Alabama Line Showcasing Nashvegas
Caddle went to Nashville last week to play at the re-birthday of Alabama Line.  The guys at Xaust media put
this on and it's turning into quite a little fandango for the Nashville scene.  So Tim and Curt invited us to play
the first of hopefully many more to come last Thursday Aug 3.  We had some meetings to attend early in the
afternoon across the street from the bar and were able to get in on all the pre-party festivities.  Of course, that
meant  we started drinkin about 4pm and weren't scheduled to play till 10pm.  That turned into a 200 dollar tab
quite quickly.  Full Story

After show....refused entrance to nudie bar, the band following us in their van got pulled over,  went to printers alley drank
buckets of beer, Drew sang, "Wishing Well" in the karaoke bar, loaded up the van, back in Birmingham 8 am
.

Mixing gasoline and nitro would make a pretty impressive explosion, though
nothing like the high powered alt-country performance from these blue collar

CADDLE SIGNS WITH NASHVILLE BASED
MANAGEMENT AND AGENT
Birmingham Rockers Continue To Stake Claim on New Era of Rockin’
Country
Birmingham, AL— Caddle, the blue-collar Southern Rock band from Birmingham, have been tearing up the
road in support of their latest album, Raise ‘em High, which was released last fall.  Now, after spending
some time working on new material with prestigious Nashville songwriters, Caddle is taking the next step in
their collective young career by signing with James Fee at the Bobby Roberts Company (Merle Haggard,
Kentucky Headhunters, John Anderson, Confederate Railroad) for exclusive booking.  The band has also
signed with Joe Hooper and Robert Eva at Nashville based N8 Management.

“Caddle is the most exciting band I have heard and seen in a long time, and N8 Management is honored to
have them on board,” stated Hooper.  He added that Bobby Roberts “was a perfect fit for Caddle. They have
wonderful reputation, great staff, and they share the vision set by Caddle and N8 Management.”

About Caddle
Mix explosive country and rock and you have the high-powered performance of a Caddle show. Described as
"Dixie fried roots rockin country," Caddle’s latest album, Raise ‘em High, was named Album of the Year at the
Alabama Music Awards, and draws on classic country and bluegrass influences, then supercharges them
with hard driving southern rock n' roll with an attitude. For those unfamiliar with Caddle, think Merle Haggard
meets the Rolling Stones. Respected manager John Dotson (Steve Earle, Confederate Railroad) adds that
Caddle sounds like “Steve Earle meets the Clash.”
